I hope you are right but I have heard nothing of this. How reliable are your sources? One thing that would help the department immensely is ownership of a plane for charter flights. This would help non football sports tremendously

Agree, a 4 lane tie into 1-10 becomes shortest north/south route, artery for shipping whether via Hwy 35 or Hwy 13. Undeveloped overpasses exist on either side of Rayne & east of Crowley that could become an exit designed for connecting into a State highway just south of one of those cities going south to Kaplan and the 'islands'. Same distance to/from I-10 either way. And Hwy 14 between Kaplan & Abbeville already needs 4 laning. Lots to do!

Granted the road network needs to be improved I would suspect that a large portion of the "stuff" going in and out of the facility will go by water. Larger quantities and no load restrictions..

Granted the “stuff” will go by water but the humans will go by land. Let’s say 1K of the 3K employees live on site, you still have to transport 2K on a daily basis down there.

I'm also hearing that Abbeville to Kaplan will be four lanes.

By 2030 tourist will outnumber employee traffic x10 easily. By 2035 it'll be 20x et it will include Global tourism. No where else on Earth one can see take offs and landings daily. Need at the bare minimum a full 6 lane interstate spur from east of Crowley to SpaceX. NO F'ing RED LIGHTS.....a tourism ready interstate with boucoup exits and service roads to develop industry and hospitality off the interstate corridor. There is nothing of consequence in the way.....one super straight interstate spur.....Starbase Expressway

SpaceX's massive project in Vermilion Parish could bring thousands of jobs and potentially transform Lafayette into Louisiana's largest population center.
