The news about softball just keeps getting better and better. Trying to be optimistic but it is getting more and more difficult.

Way back .... when "unproven" Glasco was hired, I was told (unamed) was trying to tank the program.

If true, that effort backfired ... temporarily.

          • Emily Adams – Pitcher
          • Tori Gonzalez – Infielder

The problem is Adams is the only one that will pitch at UL. Hranicky will just hit and play the field. UL hasn't addressed the P or C situation.

The good news is that both Rios and Hranicky made the Alliance Fastpitch All-Stars this summer. Not that it is necessarily a prediction of good performance in D1, but it is sat least a positive indicator.

Also, Adams was Alabama 5A pitcher of the year. And Gonzales is a top 50 recruit, per Perfect Game.

Would Harrington be able to contribute at catcher?
Pitching is very concerning at this point.

I have seen Harrington play a ton of games. On defense, she is better than anyone on the roster at the catcher's spot, in my opinion. It is TBD if her offense will be there against D1-level pitching. Also, in my opinion, the Cajuns need her to win the starting spot so that they can move Kennedy. Moving Kennedy will help her offensive numbers. Last season, she caught almost every game, and those innings were long. In my opinion, starting as a true freshman at the catcher's spot is probably the toughest thing to do. The Cajuns need the vocal leader to come from this spot. Regardless of who wins the spot, depth is needed.

Southeastern pitcher, SLC pitcher of the year, is now in the portal.

Appeared in 3 games last year as a PH. Went 0-2 and a walk. Corner infielder from La Mirada, CA. She appears to be an unknown quantity, as far as D1 success is concerned, as TTU had Lauren Allred at first and an All-American at third last season.

She was pretty good. Is she following her coach to Texas???

Looks like she had a huge HS career...
