I have confidence that she will be a solid pitcher for us, do I think she comes in and is our #1 starter, no. But will she pitch significant and meaningful innings and be good, yes. My hope is that she builds into a top line starter by the time she leaves here.
You never know what a player's future holds. Last year's P4 pitching transfer lasted one year. Why? Because she came to the Cajuns with a 7.0 era. There was hope she could improve and be a reliable pitcher. Unfortunately, that did not happen.

Queens University Charlotte is a private school in Charlotte, North Carolina. Its student population is 1900. In a game that South Carolina won against them by the score of 25-4, KG pitched one inning. She gave up three hits, two earned runs and walked a batter.

Against P4 teams, Texas, Florida, LSU and Clemson, she threw a total of 3.1 innings. Over those innings she gave up seven hits, seven runs and walked four.

So, keep your fingers crossed and hope that what happened with Tipton, doesn't happen with her.

I already stated she had some rough outings, but the good outweighed the bad for the entirety of the season. I will stay optimistic.

I am still trying to figure out how a pitcher that went 22-1 with a 0.77 Era as a HS senior was, as you stated not so good after her 12U - 16U campaigns. And I assume you were speaking about a travel ball coach, where we cannot see those stats from those years, but based on her HS numbers against what I assume is good competition. Also based on the fact that she was an All-American on her travel team that same season. How could she be figured out when she was great in her last year in HS and her last year playing travel ball? I think someone is mistaken.
Travel ball competition and high school competition are totally different. I promise you the person who told me this is not mistaken. I didn't say she wasn't good after her 12U to 16U campaigns. I said players started to catch up to her.

But she was an all american on her travel ball team that year? Something doesn't add up.

She was an all-American in 2023. That was three years ago. She is now 19 years old, which means in 2023 she was 16. Which proves my point. After 16U, she wasn't as good as she was before. Still good, but the players started catching up to her more often on the travel ball circuit.

This is something you see in the Little League World Series every year. Teams who make it there because they have a 12-year-old pitcher with a mustache who is built like a 17-year-old. He is a man among boys.

However, by the time he is 17, all the other boys have caught up with him in statue and he can no longer dominate like he did as a 12-year-old.

Yes, I believe they are looking to add 3-4 more from the portal. Let's hope they can have an immediate impact........

If what I hear is coming, they will definitely have an immediate impact.

Some good news would be welcome. Hopefully it all works out.

I don't think it is possible to make a fair assessment of any pitcher with only 17 IP in a season. I will say that in the only two games in which she pitched more than 1 inning, she did very well. Unfortunately, both of those games were against teams with RPI worse than 11 of the 12 SBC teams.

I don't know much, about these things but I do know if (former Cajun) Sam had been pulled by her first inning actions, she might have only seen 17 innings of play.

I am going to wait to pass judgment, unlike some others, until she makes it on campus and pitches for us. All I am saying is that she has the pedigree to be pretty good.
