I have heard the same things from numerous parents. It's a little different being the shot caller. She was hired to win games and championship. She will and is losing the fan base when you finish 7th in the SBC. When she was begged to take this job by Maggard that was a red sign.
Now I agree with that. I had a conversation with a parent and we talked about Aly needing to clean house after her 1st year. the parent stated that she is too loyal to these kids that stayed onboard when she got the job. Now Im starting to get worried that we haven’t sign anyone out of the portal yet. We might be having a repeat year next year.Comment

I think I would take Fremin at SLU over Landreneau at McNeese personally. Fremin has done an amazing job at Southeastern since arriving there, not that Landreneau has not, but Fremin would be my choice, personally. I am not giving up on Aly, I really want her to succeed, I knew Aly personally because we had a ton of classes together at UL and she was and I assume still is a very genuine and sincere person, from what I remember. I just hope the stage and the expectations were just not too big for her when she stepped into the head coaching roll at UL.Comment

Yes Roarman, I remember you stating that her freshman year.Right! Allred was injured. I saw Allred practice before her freshman season started. She was an unknown. Everyone was focused on other players who had better high school and travel ball careers than she did. I told everyone who would listen that Allred was going to be the best hitter out of all of them and that pretty much, turned out to be true.Comment

When comparing anything (especially athletes’ performance using stats), you must look to be certain the level of competition was the same.
I won’t argue whether Soto needed more AB’s or not but to get an accurate assessment between any athletes you must be sure the parameters are equal. Sometimes, being a great coach is understanding matchups and which situations suit different players best for the highest % of success.
For an accurate assessment offensively in my opinion you should 1st, at a minimum do a deeper dive into things like…..
Average ERA of pitchers each hitter in comparison has faced in a season.
average ERA of pitchers the hitter was successful against.
average ERA of pitchers the hitter was not successful against.
Now, I personally don’t care enough to do those things BUT, there are many more factors that go into STATS than just the side by side numbers.👍 1Comment

My whole point was Soto should have seen more action. I get what you are saying, but two players kept getting their name inserted into the lineup with not much results regardless of the pitchers level.Comment
