    We will have no choice

There are always choices available. We do not need 4 pitchers from the portal. We need at least 2, but I believe we have to choose between gambling on getting 2 hidden gems or putting out the cash to get one good one and hoping for the best. The going price for an elite or near elite pitcher appears to be in the $300,000 - $400,000 range. Maya Johnson from Belmont was offered $380K last year [which she declined to return to Belmont] and Sam Landry got $400K from Oklahoma.

We also need RBI producers. High average hitters with power [XBH, not necessarily HR].

I had wondered about those valuations.

We need to get two good (strike throwers), it helps if they also throw fast, and two good rbi producers. These players also need to be immediate impact players. This is year 3 of the Alyson era; improvement is a must, not an option. The Cajuns have some money to work with this offseason; it needs to be used wisely.

Wow, I had no idea Sam Landry got that much from Oklahoma.

The Maya Johnson offer of $380K was confirmed by Maya in an interview last week. The Landry # was pretty well publicized last year.

A few big time donors have stepped up for UL this offseason.

Question...Isn't well like by who? Players? I was thinking he will return, at least one more year to see what he has to offer in the recruiting/portal phase of the game since he has not been given that chance.

Players. The team had the worst era ever. He should be shown the door based on performance only.

NIL contracts between an athlete and a private individual or organization absolutely shouldn't be public record. Now "revenue sharing" contracts from public university athletic departments and athletes, absolutely. If you were working for students services at UL tutoring other students, your pay would be public info with a FOIA request. Athletes shouldn't be any different for what they're receiving from public universities directly.

Pitcher training needs to be taken seriously.
