I never said he would leave, but a call should at least be made.

If you don’t ask, the answer is already no.

Considering the financial situation the athletic department is in, I'm not sure how many qualified candidates would really want the job.

I believe the UL Ragin’ Cajuns need an athletic director who genuinely understands Acadiana someone rooted in this community, not Des, and not anybody operating under the old good‑ole‑boy network. We need a leader who knows Lafayette, who respects Cajun and Creole culture, who has real ties to local business and civic groups, and who can move UL Athletics forward with transparency, accountability, and modern leadership. Acadiana has plenty of strong community figures

People involved with One Acadiana, LEDA, Festival International, the UL Foundation, and long‑time UL alumni who’ve stayed active in the region and those are the types of voices who truly understand what this area expects from its athletic department. Personally, I want someone from here, someone who represents us, and someone who isn’t tied to the old political circles that have held the program back.

We gotta look at Sports differently then we have been. Not saying it’s important, but someone that can move the economic as well as the athletic forward!!!!

So, you are thinking that coaches from New Iberia can't coach their respective sports?

Find an assistant athletic director who is well connected in the Big 12.

You never hire an insider within the department when the department is failing. Right out the gate the president will have to make a very important hire. The University has potential but is at a crossroad with the financial situation.

What abut Hudspeth? Liability or Asset, given his proven ability to excite fans and generate revenue. Is that enough to run an athletic department? He would be coming from a high school job, I believe. Just a thought.
