No thanks! And we still couldve beat them on the field without bringing them up to a better conference, and thus watering down our own recruiting. Dumb move. 3 schools now, in state, in the same conference.

I could be wrong, but I think what moorecajun meant by "welcoming" LA Tech like we did Texas State, he meant we need to beat them in every single football game the way we did TX State. Which I agree with.

I do agree with you that our administration was idiotic in supporting (and lobbying for) their invitation into the conference. But keep in mind, Martin Hall doesn't give two ___s about recruiting and "fluff" like that. They're just sellout bureaucrats willing to do anything to make sure they're liked in the proper circles that benefits only them.

No, I get that Petro. Im just saying we could still beat them on the field without bringing them up to a better conference.

UL could have been welcoming Tech every year, every sport for decades.

Same conference makes less than zero percent sense.

You are right, and I agree with you about Martin Hall. Hopefully those things start to change now.

So based on this X tweet, LaTurd got the money to exit CUSA from state taxpayers. Can anyine confirm?

Want to know which higher ed projects got money in the state budget? Here are some highlights: #lalege -$50m for a STEM complex at Southern -$38m for the new #LSU library -$4m for LA Tech’s conference switch -$3m for LCTCS’ Hyundai Steel training center https://t.co/pDgSkxyG26

That's what it says according to her reporting, $4,000,000 for conference realignment.
