I know it will never be enough for some of you, but even though she did not play much this year as a Freshman at Texas Tech, this is a player that was good enough to be recruited to the defending National Runner up in Softball and has at least 4 years to play and improve. I am excited for this pickup. Keep'em coming coach.

We all share your optimism, but the truth is that none of us have any way to measure how successful she can be in D1. I am as optimistic about her as I am about any incoming freshman, but being recruited by a P4 team is no guarantee of success in D1.

my point is you are bringing in a top tier recruit that now has some, albeit limited D1 experience at a top 5 softball university. This is the equivalent of signing a top tier Freshman, but better, because she has been practicing against some of the elite of the elite in D1 softball. You are correct, none of us have crystal balls, so we don't know what she will be when she arrives here. But based on her pedigree, she has the ability to come in and be an immediate impact player. I have discussed this on this board at nauseum with JMV and others, while we have all seen top tier elite talent come in and never live up to the hype, on the contrary we have also seen athletes who were unknowns based on HS stats come in and be superstars.

From the raw recruiting standpoint: Home Run

From the immediate fix standpoint: Unlikely, but hopeful she will be a solid contributor, game in and game out.

Wishlist: That she already possesses good base running skills. This staff doesn't seem to spend much time on that.
