The thing is, our defense had been pretty solid this season until now. I’m not going to pull out the injuries excuse but even in the A-state game last week it was starting to show some weakness in the defense. It was on full display last night. Offense too to an extent. I was so excited for Darell smith and thought he would have a great season but he’s out for the season.

Again, we sometimes have unfair expectations of our program. We do NOT have the players to be a 10 win team even though I've heard this for several years. We do not have the type of players on defense to consistently stop good teams. We are not physical enough up front, we have no real pass rushers and we are tiny in the secondary. On offense we do not have the type of talent on the O-Line to compete with even better than average teams. You saw what Tech did to our line last night? They were beating our tackles consistently with 3 man rushes which allowed more men to get into the passing lanes and make it difficult. We had the type of talent to be an 11 win team in 2021 but not in 2026

I think it's the other way around. We have acceptable expectations, this coaching staff is unable to meet them. It's up to this staff to recruit better and coach better, they just aren't able to. Believe it or not, just because they try hard, does not make them successful. There are better coaches that can get the job done, there are more prepared and smarter coaches waiting to be hired. I'm tired of the excuse as if this staff is doing everything humanly possible, and there are no other coaches that can do better. It's not true. There are plenty out there, we just have to get them.

We need to recruit safeties better. We were starting lake fricking bates at safety. Our 3 deep at that safety position are walk-ons (Colin Jacob probably earned scholarship)

yeahhh this year for giving Tuesday I think I’ll just give to baseball, softball and maybe basketball. Like i said, Dr K witnessed the entire thing and he’s been a huge supporter of athletics and even became friends with a lot of fans so hopefully he’ll do something but I’m not going to hold my breath

I seriously doubt he's going fire Dez right now. He better be trying to find an AD, CEO or whatever he wants leading his athletics department. Most places would have already hired a professional search firm by now. UAB and Sam Houston certainly have. Once new leader is in place, that's who will be doing the hiring/firing for coaches, not the university president.
