Besides the email to season ticket holders why was there nothing out of UL promoting the UAB game?

Who would do it? There's basically no marketing department, no fan engagement, no creative services, and SIDs are expected to do more with less. The budget cuts have had serious effects on the day-to-day operations of athletics and we're starting to see it as fans.
Most of these jobs already require 60+ hour weeks, low pay and crazy expectations from coaches and fans. Then when it's time to cut jobs, they're some of the first to go. You can only expect people to do more with less for so long before things start falling through the cracks.
And that's what worries me. College athletics is changing way too fast for us to be operating like this. Marketing, Fan Engagement, creative, Social media, communications, ticket sales, etc. aren't just extra positions anymore. If we don't start rebuilding the staff and investing in athletics again soon, we're going to keep seeing stuff like this happen and we're going to keep falling further behind everyone else.

Event Management appears to be Merrill Bouyer (Assistant Athletic Director for Event Management). First time seeing this name.https://louisiana.csod.com/ux/ats/ca...40?c=louisiana
This is a position that would spearhead the above. It's been open for awhile
..
The Director of Development reports to the Senior Director of Development and executes the major gift efforts for the Ragin’ Cajuns Athletic Foundatio...
The above is open as well.
Director of Development appears to be Alison Deville (Associate Director, Athletics Development). Not sure how long she's been in this position but she was at the First Serve Social for volleyball.
Not sure if the above open positions are these that were filled or more positions in the same area.

Went check more of the directory.
Nobody listed in Athletics Communications, Digital Strategy, and Broadcast Services for the following:
-Assistant Director, Creative Video (2 positions)
-Associate Director of Athletics Communications
When you click on these two departments, the site doesn't pull up anyone.
-Sports Nutrition
-Marketing & Fan ExperienceComment

I hope Trey Frazier and our new president have a detailed plan for athletic marketing and fan engagement with the objective to increase attendance at sporting events. Hopefully, this plan includes filling these necessary staff positions and will be communicated to RCAF investigators soon. We need strong leadership!Comment

well if you have a complaint or suggestion the UL president was walking around the tailgate area and was in the stands talking to fans. Next time grab him and give your suggestions or volunteer.
If this post is about the Know Before you Go it is probably controlled by Learfield especially since the UL release and USM's release are identical down to the font and layout, also when UL has sports promotions the exact promotions are also going on at USM, so some of the anger probably should be directed at Learfield and not the university.Comment

Apparently some of you still don't get the whole budget deficit thing we got going. The legislature has also inacted additional financial oversite for all Universities.
We currently have three (3) RCAF staff members. And that number isn't headed anywhere but down in the not to distant future.Comment

If Learfield is in charge of the emails like some suggest, that's not a budget issues, that's a timing issue.Apparently some of you still don't get the whole budget deficit thing we got going. The legislature has also inacted additional financial oversite for all Universities.

Where were the sponsors from week one in Cajun Village? First Horizon and one other were there. Others like Cane's just disappeared. Apparently Super One backed out before the season and they were a highlight of tailgating for casual fans throughout the years.
We have the band stand, which is also sponsored by First Horizon but couldn't schedule anyone with months in advance to plan? It doesn't have to be a big time act, could have been a smaller party band looking to get seen or just a local DJ.
Those little details like the band and Cajuns Village are what casual fans look forward to.Comment

Just to clarify something. We currently have four Learfield employees that are employed by Ragin Cajuns Sports Properties. NONE of us have access to the athletic department social media channels. You can direct the anger toward us as you suggested, but it's misguided.
