As Cajuns fans, pray the FSU kid works out. What I wouldn’t do is get overly excited based on the write up done on the FSU website. It’s window dressing.

Social media “rankings” are reading material entertainment at best and submitted by SOME travel ball coaches and those kids’ parents themselves. There are 7 ranking websites and each one different.

With that said, let’s hope the kid comes in and puts up All-American type numbers to help the Cajuns be as competitive as possible!! The reality though (outside of being recruited by FSU, albeit as an in-state kid), she will be no different than the other incoming Freshmen at the D1 level on the field…..a question mark.

I'm hoping Harrington is the catcher. I'm worried about Danika injury and being in the portal at this stage of the portal season. The word is her dad pushed a ton of those rankings. One of my favorite players from your organization Lauren Alred if I remember correctly wasn't high ranked or even ranked, and she has worked out fine.

Man, Harrington has all the tools in the world be extremely successful. The grind, mindset and development needed from any Freshman in the Country making that transition is ALWAYS the unknown. I hope that she makes the transition and competes for a spot and/or pushes the next kid to be better.

Allred was never ranked (I personally don’t get involved in “ranking” players). Maddie Hayden was also not ranked until someone nominated her at the request of someone else in order to make the incoming freshman class look better that year.

I am not hating on rankings and ranked players one bit. Most of those kids ranked can flat out play, but to get excited over it and make a case on it is short-sided. Way too many great players in the Country to put too much weight on rankings. ESPECIALLY with the transition into D1 softball.

I personally don’t think the injury will be an issue if she has gone through proper rehab.

Now need to hold on to the best 5 players. I’m just not set on anyone else in the recruiting class but I have not seen any of them play. Hopefully they all contribute. Need 3 elite pitchers to finish off next years team. Better players equals better coaching. Not the other way around.
            This didn't age well?

___ they now ranking 5th graders. I also can care less what a player did in high school or travel ball. Once you get on campus none of that matters anymore. Still a little sour on the Cajuns not going after one of the hardest outs in the state. You know who I'm talking about.

Maybe not, but for a bigger player that is playing a physical position in the brutal heat, with a pitching staff that will probably struggle it definitely has me concerned.

Very good. Do we have a name for the pitcher from Cali?

                          Candice Puig.

One source gives her max velocity at 65, change up at 43. The only stats I found with a quick search were for a single HS game in which she struck out 10 and walked 1. She also played several other positions in HS. Her travel ball team played in the big Colorado tournament this summer. I assume that is where we found her..
