And the players the Cajuns need are pitchers. They have plenty of infielders. There's simply not enough positions on the field for all of the infielders they have.

Whatever money we have left, we need to use it to get the SLU pitcher.

The concerning thing about us or anyone having a chance at her is that on her X post she states due to unforeseen circumstances I have decided to transfer. This leads me to believe that it might be a family situation.

she is from boonesville, ms. If it is family situation then that would mean getting closer to home would be a deciding factor. Booneville is in the NW corner of Mississippi. So Lafayette would not be a desirable destination.

I have no inside information just reading her post on why she is transferring.

It was unforeseen that her HC would resign and go to Texas. Not that it could not be something else, but that is the most obvious change.

I had forgotten that SLU lost their coach to become an associate HC at Texas. That does change some things, but she will still be a hot commodity on the open market, I would love to see her in Vermillion and White, but it might be a challenge to get her here. Good luck to the coaches.

Part of the problem is that the staff never reached out to anyone or asked for any money for the program. Deggs and RCAF did a great job for baseball. Crickets on the softball side.

I like softball and have had season tickets since Yvette was here... but 26 pages? wow.

So your happy with where the program is at this moment?

Of course not... but 26 pages is a bit much.

Not really, if you are concerned that the most successful sports program at UL history is sliding into mediocrity.

We know we don't have room for Hunter Veach, but it is undeniable that he is a great defensive coach and that we have fallen off considerably on the defensive side of the field since his departure.

Over 42,700 views, so people are interested and/or concerned.

I am interested and concerned. I don’t have much and I just retired, but I would chip in $100 to help get the pitcher from Southeastern if that’s what it takes. If the rest of us that are concerned also could chip in a little, we might be able to get a few thousand more to help. I don’t know if money is the issue for this pitcher, but if it is, then maybe Ragin Pagin can help secure the deal.

Could last minute money be raised for Veach?

SideQ: Not this year, but who was responsible for Louisiana leading the country in double plays?
