"Today is a great day for Louisiana for Acadiana and the university of Louisiana at Lafayette.
I want to begin by first congratulating governor Jeff Landry and secretary Susan Bourgeois of the Louisiana Department of Economic Development at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
We’ve been preparing for this very moment.
We were the first university in Louisiana to successfully send a satellite into space.
Our students and researchers have built autonomous vehicles.
Advanced Research in robotics and going back to Cajun bot in 2004, and have explored everything from how to sustain life in space to the technologies that will take us there.
While I’m proud of the work that we have done for decades, I’m most excited about the work that we are going to do starting today in producing the next generation of scientists and engineers, and the workforce and the innovators that SpaceX needs in Louisiana.
This is our moment and we are ready SpaceX.
Welcome to Louisiana and the University of Louisiana, your partner in what comes next."
