You ever burned pine knots, cones or needles? Those things are highly flammable. Add in how dry it has been and one little spark can be disastrous.

The padding on fence, the turf, the scoreboard/billboard, all nasty synthetic material that creates that thick black smoke. I’m sure it was a delightful scent around the athletic complex.

After Christmas a few years ago we brought the Christmas tree out in the middle of the cul de sac and lit the bottom. That thing flared up at an unbelievable pace. It was totally burned up in less than 10 seconds. Never seen anything like that. There is something in pine that really burns. Needless to say, we’ve had an artificial tree since.
