Well, it looks like we are on a Wednesday - Saturday schedule this year.

I got season tickets last year and went to the games that I could. It looked like we were really starting to get it together in the second half of the season and I was looking forward to this season, then it seemed like all the players left. Does anyone have a good idea of what kind of team we might have this year????

They brought in 9 new scholarship players which is normal for college basketball these days. At the Back to Blackham event in late September, there will be an intrasquad scrimmage. People can get an impression of the team then. Team calls Mikhail Dulkay the Ragin Russian and he seems to be the new guy most people in program are excited about. People who went to the golf tournament say he is all of 6'10". He averaged 8 points per game and 6 rpg last year for his team which is basically a lower level European pro squad. Video I saw of him showed he is a good ball handler. None of our other big men have that trait. He is used to competing against men. HS player who may have most potential is PG Isaiah Wilks as he was Mr. Basketball in Oklahoma. Our best player from last year is Jamyron Keller. Unfortunately he only played 2 games before injury. He is now healthy and returns.

Where the hell did this Dulkay guy come from? Now Mike, before you answer, I know he's from Russia. Lol. What mean is I thought I knew all of the players but I guess they slipped him in.

Good Question. Outside of Lavergne and Keller I think there's a good chance Middleton will be our other backcourt starter, I have no idea how to predict the other starters and main contributors. We don't know a ton about them. I'm kind of excited about Josiah Harris.

I have no clue on how they were made aware of the Ragin Russian or how they got Dulkay here. Apparently, Coach Reyes was the lead recruiter on him. He arrived in early July and enrolled in school for the second session of summer school. Somehow they had to handle the VISA aspects of getting him here. Coach Reyes is the former HC of Loyola of New Orleans. Perhaps they had some foreign players and he learned how to handle VISA issues in that time.

Only the non conference and midweek conference game times are posted. All the Saturday games in conference are TBA. Same as last year. They are waiting for season ticket renewal deadline on August 30th. Expect to see afternoon game times released on Saturdays after that.

Well, I expect to see 6 or 7 pm games except for any dictated by ESPN.

I would expect to see noon or 2/3pm tipoffs with occasional 5pm starts that get moved by ESPN. the early starts save money on travel and overnight lodging. If that changes this year I’ll be really surprised.

I’d much rather the evening games on Saturdays.
