Pitching needs to be good, but we cannot mis fly balls, fail to secure ground balls on easy throw outs, and cannot make base running mistakes as we have been. Those things cost us a bye in the tournament. Also for god sakes, please do not leave early!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course, I'm assuming we beat Troy Wednesday, ULM Thursday and either SoAl or USM on Friday. Nobody in that group is scary good. However, our pitching needs to be at it's best to win 4 in a row! A ray of hope was watching Lexie pitch at SoAL last weekend. That was the best she's looked all season.

Win four at home and you are NCAA tournament bound. At least they play much better at home so there is always a chance.

Louisiana Softball is hosting the 2026 Sun Belt Conference Softball Championship tournament at Yvette Girouard Field at Lamson Park, opening play in the event on Wednesday, May 6 at 7:00 p.m.

There are 10 Sun Belt Conference teams total participating in the single-elimination tournament from Wednesday-Saturday, May 6-9 at Lamson Park, vying for the league's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.

The event begins on Wednesday, May 6 with a pair of first round games, ramps up with the quarterfinal round on Thursday, May 7 and concludes with the championship game on Saturday, May 9 at 1:30 p.m. on ESPN2.

Louisiana (28-26, 11-13 SBC) enters the tournament as the No. 8 seed, securing its spot with back-to-back series victories over Coastal Carolina and Marshall the last time at Lamson Park.

The Ragin' Cajuns are paired with No. 9 seed Troy (32-21, 10-14 SBC) on Wednesday (May 6) in the 7:00 p.m. first round contest. UL and Troy are meeting in the SBC's postseason for the sixth time, overall, and first time at Lamson Park since 2011.

The winner of Wednesday's Cajuns-Trojans contest advances to the quarterfinal round to meet No. 1 seed ULM (37-19, 19-5 SBC) on Thursday, May 7 at 4:00 p.m.

The other half of Louisiana's side of the bracket includes No. 4 seed Southern Miss (33-23, 14-10 SBC) which meets No. 5 seed South Alabama (29-25, 13-11 SBC) in the quarterfinal round.

Tickets remain available, with individual session prices starting at $15 for general admission outfield seating and all-session prices beginning at $75 for outfield seating. Purchases can be made in advance online at RaginCajuns.com/tickets or by calling the Louisiana Athletics Ticket Office at (337) 482-GoUL (4685).

The official Sun Belt Championship tournament bracket and complete schedule of games is available at the championship central page located at SunBeltsports.org. The page is housed at SunBeltSports.org, and is accessed by scrolling over the Championships section on the site header and clicking Softball in the drop-down menu.

Live television coverage through the semifinals is available on ESPN+ while the championship game on Saturday, May 9 will be televised nationally on ESPN2. Ragin' Cajuns fans can follow the team throughout the tournament by listening to the radio broadcast on The GOAT 103.3 FM and 1420 AM in the Acadiana region and worldwide on Varsity Network with Cody Junot (pxp) and Bobby Neveaux (analyst) providing commentary.

The 2026 SBC Softball Championship marks the seventh time that Lamson Park – the site of the conference's inaugural softball tournament event in 2000 – has served as the host site. The Ragin Cajuns' home facility previously hosted the tournament in 2000, 2004, 2011, 2014 and 2018, and 2023.
