That will have little effect long term until the problems inside the fence are addressed.

Fine, but it can’t hurt either.

We have had plenty of people go to games, the problem is they don’t come back. If we could retain people once we get them there, the stadium would already be full every Saturday. Can’t keep having to “refill it” every weekend.

True. You must win. Almost doesn't matter who you play. Everyone loves happy endings.

That is the problem with your free method. They still wouldn't stay or come back if it was free. Nothing inside the field gets anyone excited. If the games were free, the Cajuns couldn't sell out every home game.

The only problem with my free method is you don’t understand it. I never suggested people get in free to the games.

It’s everything, you need to win, not run out of everything, not make people miss a quarter getting concessions, walk in standing urine at the bathroom, etc. It seems like it’s just always been something over the years, they fix one thing and 2 more things break or they fix something that didn’t need fixing. It’s like they can’t ever just put it all together. It will take a reevaluation of marketing/ pricing strategy and a long consecutive run of getting game days right from start to finish to fill that stadium.

Winning is number 1, then conference is number 2, money is number 3, fan engagement is number 4, call LSU and let’s set up some damn games against each other. Hell do a 4-1 or 9-1 just to get them here once. Call Boise State, Memphis, etc. just get it going man I’m so tired of playing the same damn teams and FCS schools. Fix the problems hell I’ll join the school for free to get crap going.

So let them in the tailgating for free and then when the game starts they leave or they watch the tsab game at the tailgate spot. Great idea.

Its a separate support event that should start before the game and last till curfew.

Some venues show multiple games inside the stadium.

For the few that would do that, how much did it cost? Do Mexican restaurants stop giving chips and salsa to everyone just because a group only ate the chips and left?

A group never goes into a restaurant and eats the chips and salsa and nothing else. Terrible example.

                            Cajun Heartland State Fair.

For different individuals the main event (for them) can be different.

For most or at least where the most individuals gather at the same time is the concert.

If a few or many opt out of the concert ... no big deal.

Get them into Cajun Basin and the odds of additional attendees to main event goes up.

Yes they do, I owned a Mexican restaurant. Some people go in and eat entire meals and leave without paying. Instead of thinking about all the people that would end up in the game you choose to focus on the people that stay at the spot. You have the same mentality as the university.

Possibly, but I do understand his point. I remember reading an article a few years ago about a minor league baseball team in a smaller town and all of the extra effort they put in to get people to come to the games. They knew that they couldn’t draw like the major league teams, so they made each game like an event. Special promotions, entertainment, giveaways; anything that would help draw people in….and it was working. Something special at each game. And advertise it loudly to the general public. I’ve mentioned before to have a band night. Invite the 2 largest high school bands in the area (say Lafayette High & Acadiana). Let them play in the stands and each do their regular show at halftime. That would bring in about 400 band members and about another 800 parents and grand parents. Just an idea, but certainly “doable” and results oriented.
