Louisiana Softball head coach Alyson Habetz has signed former Florida State catcher Danika Spinogatti, adding her to the roster for the 2026-27 academic year.
Spinogattii redshirted during the 2026 season and will be making her official collegiate debut with Louisiana. Beginning with the upcoming 2027 season, she has four years of eligibility remaining.
One of the top prospects in the country from the Class of 2025 recruits, Spinogattii hails from the prestigious Montverde (Fla.) Academy. She was ranked the No. 29 overall player by Extra Innings Softball, was a six-time Florida Class 3A All-State honoree and competed for the U18 Italian National Team.
In 2025, Spinogatti closed her prep career batting .485 with eight home runs and 40 RBI as she helped Montverde Academy to a No. 2 ranking in the country. She earned PGF All-American status and was a finalist for the 2025 Florida Gatorade Player of the Year.
Spinogatti helped Montverde Academy to its first-ever state title in 2024.
She departed Montverde Academy as the program's all-time leader in four major categories: RBI (116), doubles (34), home runs (15) and walks (91).
Spinogatti was selected to the USSSA Select 30 All-Star Game in 2021 and 2022 and the Triple Crown All-Star Game in 2023. She was also the Montverde Academy Athlete of the Year and became just the 10th female athlete in school's history to win the award.
