I want someone who is going to get things realigned. Since the middle to end of the Hud era, pricing went through the roof for most of the things. Look how empty the stadiums and tailgating are compared to the beginning of Hud. I agree things were probably too cheap then and needed to come up some, we swung the pendulum too far the other way.
People came because it was exciting. The crowd played a factor because it definitely was not Cajun Field itself.
You could get a family of 4 in for $40. We did away with all that family friendly concepts.
It seems like the thought was we need more money, so raise the prices. What it did was turn a lot of people off to where we are now not getting anyone but diehard fans that would be there anyway.
bring the pricing back down to get more people in $15 each of a full stadium becomes more than $25 each of a less than empty stadium. Plus the revenue from concessions, etc. And the non-monetary benefit of a full, exciting stadium and building fan support.
I am a Cajuns fan because I was able to go when I was a kid. Get the YRCC to more than two games a year. That’s how you get our kids to become Cajuns fans.
You turn people off by pricing out the families. There are way to many festivals and other events that they will just find something else to do.
But you have to have someone that understands the culture.Comment

Being Maggard got moved to Martin Hall, I am not close to convinced CMD and CAH were his decisions.
Maggard did due diligence hires before these two. The FB and SB hires were lazy, throw the home boy fans a bone, not his MOO before the move.
If you have children/grandchildren out of state, Maggard moving was a no brainer. Happy wife, happy life.
If the new AD is a homer, Maggard probably didn't pick the two referenced above.Comment
