Such pitiful pitching. Sixteen free bases.

Cajuns giving this one away. Had em where we wanted em in the 9th and blew it.

Do we have it in us to come back from 3 down?

When Pearson was pulled after pitching well, I told my friend that I am watching the game with, that it was a move that might come back to bite them. Stay with the guy who is dealing on the mound. Sometimes too much emphasis is put on this lefty and righty stuff.

New Orleans capitalized on 17 free passes issued by Louisiana pitching, scoring three runs in the 10th inning on one hit to claim a 9-6 victory Tuesday in the midweek finale for both teams at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park.

Mile Curley recorded two hits and drove in three runs as New Orleans (21-30) overcame five errors to win its second straight game against Louisiana (30-19) in the first meeting between the in-state programs since 2019.

Louisiana took a 4-3 lead in the sixth inning before the Privateers answered with two runs in the eighth and one in the ninth to move ahead, 6-4. The Ragin' Cajuns rallied in the bottom of the ninth as Noah Lewis and Lee Amedee reached on one-out singles, and Colt Brown delivered a game-tying triple to even the score at 6-6.

UNO prevented further damage as Eli Tidwell threw out Brown at the plate, and Steven Spalitta was caught stealing to end the inning.

In the 10th, the Privateers drew two walks and added a hit batter to load the bases. After a strikeout, Owen Smith was hit by a pitch to force in the go-ahead run. Dathan Cummings followed with a two-run single off Louisiana reliever JR Tollett (4-4), scoring Curley and Kruise Newman.

Every third walk is like gifting the opponent an extra inning at bat to beat you.

Last night UL gave UNO almost six extra innings to beat them.

The New Orleans Privateers were apparently in no mood to allow UL to keep rolling off home victories, and the Ragin' Cajuns gave the visitors plenty of help.

The Privateers scored three runs in the top of the 10th on one hit to claim a 9-6 extra-inning win over the Cajuns on Tuesday at Russo Park.

UL issued two walks and hit two batters in the decisive 10th inning. Dathan Cummings added a two-run single to right as well for the winning rally.
