Actually, negotiations for this game were underway while McMahon was still coach at LSU. Coach Q stated that when rumors of the game for this upcoming season began that he and Coach Wade get along. Money wise it will help us as we should get a nice payday with little travel cost. In our situation, we desperately need those dollars.

Play to win but if you don't play you can never win and have already lost.

I don’t see this game as a good thing.

Once again finances play a role in all our decisions these days. No travel costs for a nice payday is a factor here. Easy for fans to criticize decisions but we don't have to worry about the budget while administrators do. By the way, LSU is playing most of the D1 schools in the state in their non conference slate.

You are not wrong, but I would put more stock in this official stance if they had scheduled Tech twice a year in everything.

On the flip side a consistently winning schedule would bring in far more money to the program than one time (every few years) LSU payouts.

I think our finances are in worst shape now than in the past. Also, playing Tech in a home and home series does not bring the dollars that a high paying money game does. I also suspect playing at LSU may become more of a regular occurrence going forward. Winning consistently against a good schedule would obviously be a good thing.

Guarantee you if we somehow pull off a miracle we will never play them again in basketball. ___ we ALMOST scored a touchdown in 2009 and only lost by 28 and they haven’t played us since. Obviously baseball is different.

Unfortunately, we're likely to get rolled by both again this year.
