Troy Wingerter Nearly 40 years at Louisiana ...

For nearly four decades, Troy Wingerter had somewhere to be every August.

On Tuesday, for the first time since Ronald Reagan was president, he walked away from the UL football program with no practice schedule, no recruiting calendar and no idea what comes next.

Despite the many unanswered questions facing the New Orleans native who has served the Ragin’ Cajuns in multiple ways, Wingerter realized he was more prepared for the uncharted days ahead than he ever imagined.

No, but I did hear his interview with "Fast Eddie" on Big 102.1. Troy is about as classy as a guy can be. Especially the way that he is handling this travesty! He is attempting to do some consulting work and guess who his first job is coming from? He will be spending a week at JMU doing work for Billy and his staff. Great for Troy and not so great for UL.
Best of luck to Troy, as he will be a huge asset to whomever chooses to utilize his consulting services.

He will probably end up as an athletic director somewhere.

As much as I dislike the USL hires for football and softball, not sure about AD, we definitely need a change there, but he would great as RCAF director and head fundraiser.

I'm sorry to be late to the party but I knew Troy was leaving but is there something more going on behind the scenes of his departure? Is he being forced out?

Yes and a lot of former players and people close to the program are very pissed about how it was handled

Troy Wingerter, Associate Athletic Director/Chief of Staff for Football, joined the BIG 102.1 Morning Show with CJ and Fast to address his dismissal from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Hear his side of the story here.

Stevie Artigue made a call out post about them handling the situation on Facebook. UL needs to fix things/make things right fast or the fallout will get worse.

We need to figure out who scapegoated Coach Troy, and for whom. That story with real names needs to be blasted all over.

My opinion is that this was instigated by the MH guy forced upon the university by the UL system. This only started after he came on board
