LA Tech joins the SBC

Just to play devils advocate, do your really think our recruiting in most sports was lightyears or to that point any better than Tech's was because we were in the SBC vs CUSA. Let's look at it overall.

In the last 12 years, were we tremendously better in Football than Tech overall, what about Basketball, the two sports you might be able to argue with are baseball, which for a few season, Tech was neck and neck with us and softball, where they might have overtaken us, at least in the last 2 years, but they have steadily gotten better over the last 5-10 years. Overall I think the SBC is a better conference than the CUSA by a bunch in almost all of the major sports, but do you really think our recruiting edge was that much because of the conference we are in. If so it really did not show on paper or on the field.

It was then NIL hit, but we are trying to gain ground on that as well now to get back to our Glory days in Softball and Football. Not too long ago, Louisiana Football was being considered for a playoff spot and winning SBC Championships. Not too long ago Louisiana Softball was hosting regionals and super regionals and nationally ranked consistently. Louisiana Baseball has recruited better than Tech for a while now the consistent post season berths speaks for itself.

Basketball well we always need work there. Hoping Coach Q's recruits can bring us back to the NCAA this year.

I'm so sorry to hear this bad news. Consider latech joined the WAC, eventually the WAC fell apart. They jumped to CUSA, eventually CUSA fell apart. Now they pulled political strings to get in SBC.... how many years before this conference falls apart?

I believe they let travel costs cloud their judgment when that's actually the one thing they could have been doing all along if it was really a true worry or factor.

I would like to know who was behind this panic move? It's just another long trip for the east coast teams.

Savoie did a lot of things wrong before he left UL. I don't know why some still praise him. He was terrible and we didn't know it because he did everything behind closed doors without the public knowing alot.

They are so predictable (this was so predictable) there is no reason Louisiana shouldn't defeat them in every sport.

I'd like to just beat them on the field. Coach Dez has to know that is the biggest game on the schedule at this point. Us just complaining to the conference to do something, then pulling a Hudspeth vs. LA Tech game performance will only help Ruston's narrative.
