Just to play devils advocate, do your really think our recruiting in most sports was lightyears or to that point any better than Tech's was because we were in the SBC vs CUSA. Let's look at it overall.
In the last 12 years, were we tremendously better in Football than Tech overall, what about Basketball, the two sports you might be able to argue with are baseball, which for a few season, Tech was neck and neck with us and softball, where they might have overtaken us, at least in the last 2 years, but they have steadily gotten better over the last 5-10 years. Overall I think the SBC is a better conference than the CUSA by a bunch in almost all of the major sports, but do you really think our recruiting edge was that much because of the conference we are in. If so it really did not show on paper or on the field.Comment

Chopping up the Louisiana footprint for travel purposes was not the only knee jerk solution.
If Louisiana admin had taken my long-time advice and played Tech OOC in every sport (some sports twice a year) and yes they needed to agree to it. But if they had made a push to play in every sport, Tech would not have been attracted to the Sun Belt.
