Kolluru, Louisiana entering new fiscal year with surplus

After a year of financial shortfalls and cuts, UL is entering the new fiscal year on July 1 with a $3.6 million surplus.

University President Ramesh Kolluru made the announcement June 25 at the UL System Board of Supervisors meeting.

The university entered the current fiscal year on July 1, 2025, with a $50 million deficit that included a $25 million structural deficit, he said, and $25 million in unpaid bills, and another $25 million in recurring bills pending.

Great Pres. Kolluru, now start working some magic on getting the Athletics programs, especially football, to where they should be, top of the G5.

This is an amazing accomplishment! Congratulations go out to all in the university that went through cutbacks to achieve this feat.

Now we can truly begin a new era!

I don’t think we are out of the woods quite yet but it’s a start.

Of course but I think our projected deficit next year is $27 million, so as i said, not out of the woods yet.

Do you know when that projection was made? If it was before these cuts were made I would expect it needs revision.
              Hopefully!

Great Job to our new President! T JO secretly did a lot of irresponsible things the past decade.

It's for the 2027 fiscal year. Expected revenues +/- $297M Projected Expenses +/- $323M. Need to work on enrollment and retention. So more work to be done.

Thanks for the info! Would you happen to have the same info for the 2026 fiscal year? If it is available to the public, you could just send a link, I just don't know where to look.

This is just my thoughts. The 25-26 fiscal year just finished 3 days ago. It may be too early to have that information. Should be available in a couple months.
