We need to embrace the state more than the region. Our state already reflects the culture of our region. It’s in our university’s name, Louisiana, and we have the largest state flag on the field before kick off. It’s part of our tradition. We need uniforms that reflect our Louisiana branding. We need to change the name of the band to the Pride of Louisiana. It’s time for consistent branding of Louisiana!

Okay with all of this except for the last part. I think Pride of Acadiana is fine the way it is. It is perfectly fine to have at least one reference to the region we’re in.
One example, University of Tennessee’s band is called “The Pride of Southland”. They’re not the “Pride of Tennessee”.

I think the only thing this is doing specially if its a one game thing, is that its not just a Lafayette tradition but to get people from around Acadiana to join in and come to the games. We are still Louisiana. Its just a way to acknowledge Acadiana and the area we also represent.
