Would moving the fence in at Russo Park produce more wins?

UL baseball coach Matt Deggs began hinting about it publicly in March.

He would like the Russo Park outfield fence to get moved in for the 2027 season.

It's an idea that's changed the way I've viewed every college baseball game I've watched since he brought it up.

Im against this 1000%, it will mess up the aesthetic of Russo park.
You are going to tell me the architects in this area cant fit a clubhouse down third base side without destroying the aesthetics of the present field.
move the bullpen behind right field, build a two story club house, even better, build a new clubhouse where the existing one is. This university is destructive , there are no traditions anymore

I'm against moving the fence. I'm sure Mr. Moore would be against this also.

I’m also against moving the fences. I think we’d have lost more games at home this season if the fences were closer. The only game I think we would have won was against UNO when Brown hit one off the wall in the B9.

We should be using it to our advantage to recruit pitchers.

There is no doubt that the Tigue is a pitcher's ballpark, but that benefited Coach Robe teams because that is how he built his teams, through pitching and defense. CMD is a little different and knows that we are moving the fence in would change that. I am against the move; I would prefer to continue to build the team with pitching and defense first.

The Astros built, at the time, Enron Field with a short porch in Left Field to benefit Jeff Bagwell, because the Astrodome was mammoth. I have no problem building a stadium around how your team is built, but to change the stadium now to me is not a good plan. Just my .02
