    Softball Portal

June 8th is upon us. Will there be more players enter the portal. In addition, do we have any planned visits this week????

I do not believe we will have any Cajuns enter the portal other than the ones who have already publicly declared.

As to your second question; I certainly hope we have targets for visitors, but I also hope that we don't have visits already booked, at least none with players who have not already declared on social media that they are available.

What does declaring on social media have to do with anything? Tons of players enter the transfer portal without a social media post.

Declaring on social media does not somehow make it "official".

Social media is like the modern day tree falling in the forest.

Some do, but not tons of them. Most try to get their names out so that coaches can do some background work on them before the portal becomes live.

You asked for my opinion. I gave it. I never even implied that social media posts are somehow "official".

You must have me confused with the original poster. I never asked for anything.

I simply asked what social media has to do with it because your comment made it sound like that had bearing on whether or not a player is actually in the portal.

                My apologies for asking.

Not specific to softball but in general maybe transfer portal players should not receive additional official visit allowances....unless they didnt use their full allotment initially. ...if it seems nobody is going for academics then there us not much to visit, you can email or text the NIL amount and most have played at or seen the other stadiums/arenas. Or compromise make the visit limit a little higher maybe 7 or 8 instead of 5, but you might need to save them

I know Heavener personally. She will probably end up at Duke or UF.

Nutter has been to some UL camps. I know Lacey will go hard after her. I hear she wants to stay in the SEC, but I think we have a shot at her.

Is the "do not contact" setting in portal real, and is it true evidence of tampering if that setting is used before even entering portal or immediately upon entering?

Yes, it is real. Coaches can't talk to them "Legally" until they are in the portal, which opened June 8th. College coaches call travel ball coaches, who call parents. That's usually how it works "Legally." That's how deals were made before the portal, and why players use the DNC tag. They already know where they are going. AKA the loophole around coaches having direct contact with players.
