I'd put it in the middle of the bottom of the L, as an off red, within the red. Or In the fleur band.

Okay someone tell me if this would be rule compliance, have the parish with the city as a star in thr band of the Fleur-de-lis. I think it would

Well, if that’s what’s preventing us from having a true symbol, then we can focus on the intent and that intent is to show we do make a reference to Lafayette by placing it where it is. I mean, we just have to reference it like ULM does. We’re acknowledging it in the logo. I cleaned it up, not that it matters much, but I kind of like this approach because, at the heart of Louisiana and Acadiana, we’re marking the center of it all.

The attached logo is fully compliant, says everything about who we are and where we are located, and the block "L" is a much cleaner look IMO. Louisiana at Lafayette compliance is achieved by using the Louisiana state outline and the L which can signify Lafayette. However, to the person looking at it, it is simply LOUISIANA and maintains the name that we have achieved. The FDL is placed where Lafayette is located and perfectly ties us into that logo. Make the FDL a little larger, but not too large, if that helps.

Another idea, although not in strict compliance, is a large FDL with UL in the middle across the band. It solidifies our FDL logo and has our name. Many universities are recognized by their logo and this might help us if that is the direction we want to go.

I took my vintage L and put it in the state! I change the trim to make it have more contrast I think white is the way to go on the trim on the outside, how would you feel on this?

Well Lipscomb uses a standard L block logo, I mean Lamar, Louisville etc. all use L logos, I think the differentiate between the others is the font. like Louisville uses the Old English font. If you ask me Lipscomb L looks exactly like LSU L hats. I mean we can thank the state for putting us in the conundrum, they really made it difficult. Without using UL kinda paint us in the corner. If anyone ever wondered what the L stands for I dont think anyone would have a problem it being identifiable with Louisiana.

Well it has no meaning except when i was messing with the design. Should of erased it. I was using it as a reference when i was messing with the L font

I agree, Here is a quick comparison, of all the logos, and 2 are compliant, which is my L and his L with the state I let yall be the judge, I think the single L would be okay.
