What about the white? With the red bill ? I think that would go with the vintage uniform?

Not a fan of the interlocking UL but the uniform is legit.

I think the vintage uniform is legit also, it would be cool to do something like that with the pinstripe ball caps.

not to sound ignorant we do have pinstripes that say Ragin Cajuns just not Louisiana in that style?

to make it more legit make it an off white color

Well I always stayed away from the UL logo when designing these logos, because of the LSU Rule.

This is why this logo is perfect. It has the state of Louisiana, the L for Lafayette, and the FDL where Lafayette is located in the state. While it does subtly meet the criteria of the LSU Rule, the perception is the L is for Louisiana.

Never was a fan of the "interlocking UL"

Mostly because it was a stolen design

But if an interlocking UL (sagging L design) was an unavoidable must have, then Ragin9221 hit a home run as far as I'm concerned.

Your right, thankyou for the praise. The conundrum we technically can’t use the interlocking UL without “Lafayette” because of the rule, which is exactly what makes this whole thing tricky.

Houston Cajun has his workaround with the L inside the state and the fleur‑de‑lis marking Lafayette. You keep it clean with just the state and the fleur‑de‑lis where Lafayette sits. And then there’s me over here trying everything under the sun to find something that fits the guidelines but trying to have a big time an SEC, or B10 mark that looks iconic and would establish ourselves as Louisiana.

its just thinking outside the box, and something that differentiates us branding wise then all the other universities.

problem is there is only a number of ways to do it.

My goal now is how can we put a Lafayette identifier into that Design that is subtle, and very abstract. IDK if there is a way?

I'd put it in the middle of the bottom of the L, as an off red, within the red. Or In the fleur band.
