Starting in 2027 the high school basketball championships will be returning to the Cajundome. It will be returning for the first time since 2011 except for a few games in 2021. Very good news.

We had built up a great thing here in Lafayette with a lot of volunteers, hotel discounts, restraunt discounts, etc to make it a great experience for the teams coming in. Then they put it out for bid again and I believe we were the only bidders. They didn’t like that, so they said they were going to spread it around the state. Well, it was never as good again. Hopefully we can bring back the magic again.Comment
