What I mean by that is that you’re probably gonna need 4 guys on the mound that can get through an SEC order a time or two. If the 2027 staff has that, then the team will have a chance to accomplish great things.
I feel pretty good about getting Morgan back, I feel like Brasch has to go unless he slides really far he could maybe try to get a Pavia year back like Hermann and come back as a junior.

If C-Mo and Brasch are both back, there is no telling how good this team can be.

Looking at the depth on this team at the plate and in the bullpen based on the pickups we currently have, there is going to be some real battles for playing time at certain positions. 1B will be interesting, with Kayle Pisano and Manny Salas coming in as well as the possibility of Donovan Lasalle and Steven Spalitta playing there.

The “5 in 5” rule is being voted on in a couple of weeks, and prior to the draft. If that passes, and most seem to think it will, that would give Brasch (and Morgan) another year to pitch here and still maintain some draft leverage in the 2027 draft…unless either of them started college as a 19 year old.

If both are back (and fully healthy) there’s no telling what this team may be able to accomplish.

There are a couple of other names that could be affected by that rule that could be interesting for us.

We retained just about everyone we needed, picked up 3 or 4 pitchers, and 2 experienced players who hit home runs. Not to mention freshmen coming in. I don’t know. Looks like Deggs is doing pretty good. 👍

Morgan should have it regardless, would be a redshirt junior next year.

Just something I put together to look at 2027. Not sure if I am missing anyone. I also did not get into the bullpen.

JUCO transferJeremy Kuiper and Barbe HS signee Myles Ledoux will all also be in the mix on the position player side. JUCO infielder Eric Fernandez’s name has come up as a commit for next season, but I haven’t seen much about it.

Louisiana football has been busy this offseason curating its Class of 2027 commits. See who has committed to the Ragin' Cajuns so far.
