Think I saw where one or two of yall were maybe staying in Columbus rather than Starkvegas. If so, Old Hickory Steakhouse was delicious back in 2006…and looks like it’s still around. On the main drag, Highway 45.

Sweet Peppers Deli is really good sandwiches.

One of my all time "favorite" road trips. Went there decades ago for a football game, ended up in the ER with food poisioning Sunday AM. No, was not alcohol, was the designated driver. ER doc was a d*ck, asked me if the game made me sick.

At least the PA was ok, asked me which cheek I wanted the shot, told him he was in America, he had freedom of choice. After that, the gang propped me up like Bernie Lomax the rest of the trip home.

Lived there one year (so it seemed) for a summer as a 12 year old while dad went to grad school. Should have run off with my 14 year old friends to Woodstock...

Miserable place.

you can't go wrong on any of the places in the downtown area near campus, Sat mornings there is a good farmers market. Really wish I didn't have hand surgery tomorrow or myself and my daughter would be heading up there. Hard to pass up an empty apartment and $10 dollar student tickets.

Starkville and the campus have changed so much since my military son and future daughter in law finished there in 98. Not fun drive there once one left the interstates esp at night. Now four lane hwys lead into town. Lots of good restaurants and many more housing options. Campus has really upgraded and housing much improved. Really good education too. I even used to envy their Engr and Business program. Hehehe.

i have a daughter that is a senior in Biology at moo st i like Starkville and enjoy visiting there and hotels are walkable to campus

Bin 601 was great as well as Dave’s Dark Horse. Drinks in the Guest Room speakeasy were excellent as well as the service.
