UL's 5-4 triumph over No. 2-seeded Coastal Carolina on Friday was either a baseball miracle or just the latest illustration of how mentally tough these Ragin' Cajuns are.

      2) No idea who pitches tomorrow! Should be fun playing with house money.

Sun Belt is gonna be a 5-bid league. And that is GREAT for everyone in it.

My heart rate has just returned to normal. What a win. Give that team a lot of credit. After last night's outcome they came out and beat Coastal again. Just simply outstanding.

What odds would you have taken in April to beat Coastal 4 out of 5?

                S. Miss just scored 5 in the bottom of the 9th, capped off by an 0-2 pitch walk off Grand Slam to beat Troy 7-6

                  1) Unfortunately - I don't think a lock. But Southern Miss knocking down Troy helps... SBC Pecking order at this point probably:
                  1) Southern Miss
                  2) Coastal
                  3) Texas State
                  4) Cajuns
                  5) Troy.

Some publications have the SBC getting only 3 teams. Stolen bids concerning.

Hat's off to the team for a gutsy performance in grinding out another win over COASTAL. It's time to give Texas State some payback. I have no idea who can pitch. The rest of the bull-pen should be rested since Tollett, Herm, Brasch took the load tonight. Flanagan? Mandino? All hands on deck! Pruitt? Going to have to do it with the bats!

                    Cajuns are in. Enjoy it.

16 Q1/Q2 wins is more than 13 of the teams with a better RPI #
18-7 with 8 wins over ranked teams in the last 25 games. 36 RPI ranking (as of right now).

This team is closer to being a 2 seed than they are of being left out.

I hope you are right. I guess you are thinking at least 4 for the Sun Belt. With Troy being left out. Possible.

A fast start, a nerve-wracking finish, and a gutsy performance on the mound from Andrew Herrmann helped Louisiana claim a 5-4 victory over No. 24-ranked Coastal Carolina in an elimination game in the Sun Belt Conference Baseball Championship at Riddle-Pace Field.

Louisiana (37-22) advanced to face Texas State (36-22) in a 10 a.m. start on Saturday in Troy. A win by the Ragin' Cajuns would force a second game between the teams at 1:30 p.m. The games are slated to be broadcast on ESPN+, with fans able to listen locally in the Lafayette area on KPEL-FM (96.5) and worldwide on the Varsity Network app.
With constant rain in the Montgomery area, league officials made the decision to split the bracket up with Louisiana and Coastal Carolina (37-21) moving an hour south to Troy for their elimination game.

Louisiana broke open a scoreless game with a four-run third inning, beginning with Colt Brown's two-run double off the right-field wall before Drew Markle followed with a two-run single to right off Coastal starter Ross Norman (6-6).

I am getting Greedy. I don't want to lose to TXST a 5th time this year. Beat them!!!!!!! and make sure they can't leave us out.

After watching this play out for so many years now, my confidence in these committees is fairly low. I don’t get my hopes up when I’ve seen big name schools with lower rankings slip by us in the end. But I’m proud of this team and I am eager to see how this plays out!!

What Hermann did on ONE days rest and Brasch on TWO days rest will be talked about around The Tigue for many years to come. That was legendary.

Talk about putting it all out there. If you’d have lost, you’d have done it with your best in a short rest situation. Honestly, I think a lot of us would have preferred that over stringing together the normal bullpen arms. But, it worked out and it won’t be forgotten soon.

Does Louisiana single handedly knock Coastal out of a Top-25 ranking?
