Agree. I HOPE the Cajuns can still get in... I'm not terribly optimistic about winning today vs. Coastal. Pitching needed today off. With a loss vs. Coastal today, RPI will probably dip into the 40's. Texas State is probably in (above us). Troy is making a case if they can make it to Saturday.

We're currently counting on the SBC getting 5 teams in (Coastal, Southern Miss, Troy, Texas State, Cajuns) AND that doesn't consider possibility of South Alabama stealing a bid (doubtful) - which would require 6 SBC teams for the Cajuns to get in at this point (if Troy gets to Saturday).

We REALLY need Southern Miss to take care of business today vs. Troy. If I could pick it on that side of the bracket - I would pick South Alabama over Troy in the elimination game and then Southern Miss to the championship.

That loss last night was painful. So close. Several opportunities to score more runs and several opportunities to close it out. Going to be hard to come back from this today. Someone else will have to step up. Tollett?

      Updated D1 projections just released...

They only have 3 SBC teams. I like, but not sure I agree with UL over Texas State at this point.

Cajuns are FIRMLY on the bubble at this point.

No way they put us in over TXST and Troy. I can clearly see them leaving us out over those two especially if one of them win the SBC tourney. TXST beat us 4 games, and Troy beat us 2 of 3. I still think if they don't put 5 teams in from the SBC, we get left out.

Our record against the top teams in the league is in our favor. Yes, we lost all 4 to TXST. But Troy and TXST did not fair nearly as well as we did, I think. Maybe the "body of work" argument will help us out.

As must as team outside of the power conferences have an advantage, for baseball, I feel the Cajuns have gotten a pretty good shake in the past.

Maybe 7-0 vs "P5" helps too, but it's not reflected like that in the quad wins.

We have alot more wins vs the P5 than 7. SBC is a P5 conference. We have 7 wins vs P4.

              True enough. You’re right.

Wow. Southern Miss did to Troy what TSU did to Cajuns...

Troy up 6-2 going to bottom 9... Push a run across. 6-3... Bases loaded 1 out - Russo strikes out looking. Next batter Barrett - GRAND SLAM to win the game... This helps the Cajuns at-large chances, IMHO.

The key good news for the Cajuns is that they are 16-14 vs quad 1 and 2 teams. 8-10 in quad 1 and 8-4 in quad 2. Some more good news is they are 6-2 vs the top 2 SBC teams, USM and Coastal. The bad news is they are 1-6 vs Texas state and Troy. Literally the tale of 2 teams this season. I think the Cajuns are in, but a win today vs Texas state would go along way in solidifying that. It will be hard to keep a team with our resume out. But on the other hand stolen bids can play a part in that. The other thing on the Cajuns side is history. The Cajuns background and success in regionals will help, we are not some Johnny come lately. It would be different if we were ulm or Marshall. But the committee will take in consideration our historic success.

                        Otherwise known as name recognition.

Not many on the committee will remember 2000, they might remember a #1 ranking in 2014.

Getting your name out there in as many scenarios as possible is a must for a responsible administration.

Cajuns RPI is up to 36th this a.m. Troy drops back to 41 while Coastal slips to 26th. Coastal slipping takes a few Quad 1 wins away from us. Hopefully a little movement today might let them squeeze back in the top 25. I personally think our resume stands up well enough to make it in but stolen bids can always cause havoc.

                              I THINK Cajuns in now.

Win the next one, making it to the Championship, and it's a lock, IMHO.

Go Eagles. Take care of Troy. (wouldn't hurt)

D1 Baseball’s projections this morning had us as a No. 3 seed in the Austin Regional. Those projections came out before we beat Texas State.
