    CajunDome Sound

The sound system at Cajun Field has been addressed somewhat. Now it’s time the Cajundome turn the volume way down!!!!! We sit on row 16 in section 109 and I can’t even talk to the person in the seat next to me when the music is playing!!!! Absolutely unbearable. 🤬

If you have to wear earplugs at a basketball game because of the music volume, then that means it's way too loud.

The sound levels must be set for suites to hear the music with the insulated windows closed.

Nothing new, been SOP for years. Was present with AD was questioned by a big RCAF donor regarding this. Basic answer was it is what it is. Cover for the lack of crowd noise to drown out fans expressing their feelings where television can't pick it up clearly.

Lost my attendance a few years ago for this exact reason. Too loud along with music with lyrics that would get a fan tossed.

Get a decibel meter on your phone. If sound level is over a certain level OSHA requires hearing protection. I forget the level. Take a snapshot of the level and show to athletic department. Tell them that they are in violation of OSHA sound levels for people that work the game. It's becomes a worker safety issue that they have to address. Fans don't count because they can leave. A worker is a game official, score keeper and member of the press. The sound level may be lower at concession area.

Yes I am. But those that know me, know I like loud music, but the CajunDome is crazy. I went to a couple of concerts recently and the music wasn't nearly that loud.

The volume is probably set for a certain amount of crowd being in attendance. If nobody shows up, then it's extra loud.

There is acoustic software for helping with that crowd size sound level adjustment.

Seems to me this should be a prerequisite purchase for a venue like the Cajun Dome.

That is true. My PA work is on a much smaller scale so I can easily adjust as I go.

The atmosphere last night was terrible. Between the unbelievably loud freakin rap music and the extremely loud and aggravating announcer, it was almost more than I could stand.
