Shameful that Maggard gave CMD the multiyear extension. Its like he was bidding against himself! IDK, the risk reward analysis may prove its much cheaper to pay the $1.8M buyout rather than shedding more ticket buyers AND just being completely unserious about competing for a CFP berth. Staying the course is a blueprint to losing even more of the fan base on purpose like during Bob Marlin's last years.

Have to wonder if Billy's real objective was to not have his replacement do better than he did to maintain his better winning legacy.

Baylor has fired Dave Aranda, per ESPN sources. Aranda went 40-40 in his seven years at Baylor, which included a 12-2 Sugar Bowl season in 2021. Baylor lost at Kansas on Saturday to fall to 4-3.

I remember when Dave Aranda was the one of the best coaches in CFB.

            I’d take him.

Like Desormeaux has any answer to anything. He can’t figure it out, while everyone else can.

It’s his horrific in game management and play calling. Throughout his tenure it has cost himself 10 wins easily.

Every coach in the sport has a "buyout". If you sign a 5 year deal and fire him after 2 years, you still are contractually bound to pay him for the remaining 3 years. Unless you are expecting him to sign yearly contracts? Because good luck with that.

Based on his comments I read this morning, he seemed to put the blame on the players saying "He guessed he wasn't a big enough Asshole" during this week's prep but that he was going to be moving forward.

IDK but I don't blame the players for dumb mistakes like having to burn a precious timeout directly have you get the ball back because you can't figure out a play to call after you just force a turnover. There's no reasons for that.

Missed tackles and out of place positions led to gaping holes and easy scores. An easy missed tackle on the Tech QB allowed the winning score. Defense is in shambles under this DC as is our program with our HC. As I posted earlier, in this bye week make changes with an interim HC, DC and an OC. Do a buyout payable over time so it is affordable and salvage this program. 15,000 or less die hard fans at a game will not sustain this program. We have to shoot for something better. 2 prior coaches proved that it is possible. Just do it!
